how to play disk on sony dvd player hooked up to dvd recorder + vcr + coax cable?

I can’t seem to get a dvd to play on the sony? If I turn on power of dvdrecorder and press “video”, it plays stuff from the dvd recorder/80gb hd. basically, i prefer using sony dvd player to play my dvds rather than dvd recorder/80gb hd. what buttons do i press?

What you need is a video switch. You can get them at WalMart, Best Buy, Circuit City, Radio Shack – anywhere electronics are sold. It will probably be about 10 dollars.
Get a four position which is very common. Then what you will do is hook all your recorders and players to the switch and connect the switch to your TV. You can then select the device you want to use to play on your TV with the switch.
It really is easier then it sounds.
